Position Overview: We are seeking an accomplished Heavy Industrial Senior Estimator to join our Phoenix office. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with 5-10 years of experience in heavy industrial estimating, particularly within the water and wastewater treatment sector. As a Senior Estimator, you will lead the estimation efforts for large-scale and complex projects, ensuring precision and strategic insight into cost assessments. Your expertise will be critical in steering our projects towards successful outcomes, meeting both budgetary and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation and management of comprehensive cost estimates for large-scale heavy industrial projects, specifically in water and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to develop accurate and detailed cost estimates.
  • Oversee self-performance estimation efforts in process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthwork, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather and validate cost data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and cost objectives.
  • Develop and maintain sophisticated cost databases and cost models, leveraging industry knowledge and historical data.
  • Identify and assess potential risks, opportunities, and uncertainties affecting project costs and timelines.
  • Provide strategic support in the preparation of bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and justifications.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators and team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, labor rates, material costs, and emerging construction methods to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.

Salary: $180,000 - $200,000, depending on experience.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in heavy industrial estimating with a focus on water and wastewater treatment projects.
  • Proven experience in self-performance estimation for process piping and equipment, underground utilities, structural concrete, earthwork, and structural/miscellaneous metals.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills with the ability to oversee and guide a team.
  • Advanced analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and tools, with a track record of successful project cost management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage complex tasks and deadlines in a dynamic environment.
