Salary: $140K - $180K DOE + bonus

Our client, an early-stage, fast-growing e-commerce brand headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, is seeking a dynamic Director of Operations to collaborate closely with the CEO and CMO in shaping the company’s future. Our ideal candidate is a highly detailed operator with a high EQ who knows how to execute to bring creative ideas to life. You’ll be responsible for project management within the marketing department and companywide operational improvements such as SOPs and project templates. You’ll be directly accountable for ensuring that all projects are completed on time, with detail, excellence, and within budget. And finally, you'll also help lead, support, and hold the team accountable on their KPI’s and commitments.

Position Summary

As Director of Operations, your mission is to effectively execute on creative ideas and bring them to life in efficient ways by utilizing best practices in project management and fostering a culture of ownership. This role will balance project management for the marketing department, companywide operational improvements such as SOPs and project templates, and personal development to align the team from a culture standpoint to learn about communication, project management, and collaboration.

Responsibilities:

Organizational Effectiveness:

  • Assess talent alignment and develop SOPs for efficient processes.
  • Train teams in project management best practices and establish performance metrics.
  • Foster collaboration and accountability across teams.

Project / Program Management:

  • Develop project plans, aligning goals with business objectives.
  • Manage relationships and enforce project management best practices.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies for on-time delivery.

People Management:

  • Guide fulfillment, supply chain, customer success, marketing and content teams, providing clear vision and workflow.
  • Develop team direction and offer professional growth opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork, recognize performance, and address people-related gaps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of broad-based operational leadership experience in high growth startup environments
    • Prior experience in a direct-to-consumer Ecommerce business is highly preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing operational strategies to drive business growth.
  • Excellent strategic planning, resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Skilled in leveraging analytics to drive informed decision-making.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to work autonomously in a highly iterative environment.
  • Excellent communication skills; proven written and oral presentation and negotiation skills.
