Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Network Operations Center (NOC) to lead our critical operational team. Reporting to the Vice President of Site Operations, this hybrid role is based in Phoenix, AZ. The Director will oversee the performance and availability of customer-deployed systems and enterprise applications while fostering collaboration, driving operational excellence, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership, technical expertise, and strategic vision to lead a team of engineers and supervisors in managing network infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements. Success in this role requires a balance of tactical response and strategic advancement, as well as a proven track record of leading projects that align with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
- Lead and mentor supervisors and NOC engineers, fostering collaboration and high performance.
- Establish team goals, provide feedback, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
- Set the vision for the team and manage projects to achieve objectives.
System Performance and Monitoring
- Oversee IT network systems deployment to ensure stability and scalability.
- Supervise hardware and software installation and maintenance for enterprise systems.
- Monitor network performance using Tanium or similar tools to identify and resolve issues proactively.
Troubleshooting and Incident Management
- Coordinate incident resolution to minimize system downtime.
- Track and document issues, preparing detailed incident reports and root cause analyses.
- Work with stakeholders to drive problem resolution and implement preventative measures.
Operational Excellence
- Develop strategies for system maintenance, network protocols, and security standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and third-party providers during outages or disruptions.
- Maintain vendor relationships to support the NOC’s objectives and ensure high-quality services.
- Set KPI's for the team and establish a path for continuous improvement
Technology and Innovation
- Drive innovation to enhance the NOC’s capabilities and align with strategic objectives.
- Propose technology enhancements to improve network infrastructure and customer outcomes.
Requirements
Who You Are
- Experience: 5+ years of proven leadership experience with the ability to guide technical teams.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM frameworks, SQL querying, and system management tools.
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in network deployment, infrastructure management, and security standards.
- Agility: Ability to navigate high-pressure environments and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Tools: Experience with Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and advanced Excel formulas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or equivalent technical field experience.
- Business management experience or Six Sigma Lean certification.
- Understanding of data lake architecture and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
