Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic Finance team as a Credit and Collection Portfolio Specialist. In this critical role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our company’s financial health by managing accounts receivable, resolving disputes, and analyzing customer data. This is a hybrid role based in Phoenix, AZ with 2-3 days working from our Downtown Phoenix office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Management: Oversee and manage a portfolio of accounts receivable, identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, resolving billing disputes and financial challenges through effective negotiation.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze customer accounts to assess creditworthiness and identify trends impacting collections.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance collection processes and reduce bad debt.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient and timely resolution of outstanding balances.
  • Claims Management: Assess claim viability, recommend claim amounts, and resolve denied claims.
  • Bad Debt Management: Review and manage uncollectable accounts and establish payment plans.

Requirements

Required

  • Proven Experience: At least 3 years of commercial credit management experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems and a solid understanding of billing and collection processes.
  • Exceptional Communication: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, fostering positive relationships with clients.
  • Self-Discipline: Highly motivated and organized with excellent time management abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Keen attention to detail and a strong analytical mindset.
  • Computer Proficiency: Skilled in using various computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Legal Knowledge: Proven understanding of creditor rights and bankruptcy law.
  • Education: High school diploma required.

Preferred

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in credit administration, particularly within the construction or transportation industry.
  • High-volume B2B collections experience.
  • Professional designations (e.g., NACM certification).
  • Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
