Summary of Controller Role: We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, hands-on Controller to oversee all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CPG finance, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Experience with NetSuite, audit, and payroll is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Managing Senior Accountant, Staff Accountant, Accounting Associate, and currently working with an Accounting Consulting team.
• Ability to manage and process cash transactions.
• Assist the interim CFO with the budget preparation and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• This will be a very hands-on role in the monthly close.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
• Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
• Oversee Sales Tax calculations, collection, and remittance in all jurisdictions where the company operates.
• Manage the CBIZ Audits & Bank Audits – internally and externally.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Process Payroll in Gusto, 401(k), HSA, Garnishments, Payroll journal entries.
• Review Inventory adjustments.
• Partner with the Sales team on Sales/COGS reviews.
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
• There is a new management team for 2024, must be flexible to adjust as necessary.
• Optimize and maintain the NetSuite/Celigo accounting system to improve financial reporting and processes. Manage additional Celigo connector implementations.  Completed a recent implementation for Shopify.
• Additional controller duties as necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Must have five-plus years of Controller experience.
• CPG experience preferred.
• 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Master’s degree a plus.
• CPA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
• Experience with creating financial statements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
• Proficiency in NetSuite/Celigo accounting software.
• Strong audit experience.
• Payroll administration experience.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Strong analytical skills.
