Software Engineer 3 (HSV)

Auria is looking opportunity for a Software Engineer 3 to join our team and support the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program in Huntsville, AL.

This person will be a key contributor to the design and development of Java-based C2BMC applications. The successful candidate will help generate software design artifacts, implement software changes, support design and code reviews, support software testing, and resolve issues arising from software testing. May also design and develop MATLAB-based algorithms within BM/SRM.

Essential Functions:

• Experience in full life cycle software development of Java-based applications and systems.
• Hands-on development experience for Java-based applications in a UNIX/Linux platform environment.
• Experience developing software in a structured, process-based integrated team environment.
• Experience with git/GitLab, eclipse, Maven/Gradle, SonarQube, and automated unit testing frameworks
• Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts such as System requirements, Use Cases, and SysML diagrams

• Comfortable with mathematical algorithm development or translating mathematical algorithm design into software.
   

Basic Qualifications:

Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume if applicable.

• An active Secret clearance is required to start.
• 5 years with a Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field; 3 years experience with a Master’s degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field
• Software engineering and software development with Java/JEE experience.
• Must have experience and knowledge of basic software practices such as coding standards and configuration management.
• Command and control system application development.
• Experience developing software for Unix/Linux and Windows platforms.
• Experience with Software Integration testing, including developing automated test scripts.
• Ability to work independently and possess the poise and flexibility required to work in a highly dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of Ballistic Missile Defense concepts, Battle Management and Command and Control (BM/C2) systems, defense communications systems, and the BMDS in general is especially beneficial.
• Command and control system application development
• Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance, identify the root cause, and recommend a solution.

• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks is highly desirable.
• Automated test and pipeline development experience is desired.
• Test-driven development is desired.
  

Salary Range:The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level ($99,000 - $113,000).
