Description:
The Radiologic Technologist - X-Ray is responsible for performing X-ray examinations on patients while adhering to radiation safety protocols. They prepare patients, position them properly, and ensure the technical quality of images. They accurately record and maintain patient data, conduct quality control checks on equipment, and assist with accreditation applications. In case of accidents or equipment malfunctions, they promptly report incidents to management. They have flexible scheduling and may handle emergency calls and administer special diagnostic tests as necessary. They provide support for patient registration tasks and prioritize safety, compliance, and professional development. With a focus on patient education and care, they review orders, administer medications, and closely monitor patient conditions. They also ensure equipment readiness, troubleshoot malfunctions, and accurately perform X-ray procedures, demonstrating a commitment to excellence in patient care and safety. Minimum qualifications include graduating from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology, holding relevant certifications in Basic or Advanced Life Support and Radiology, and obtaining a Radiology License and Registered Radiologic Technologist certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R). They should also have the ability to lift and maneuver patients with assistance.
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.
- Licenses/Certifications: Radiology License and Registered Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R).
- Certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS) required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and maneuver patients with assistance to perform job functions effectively.
