The SAAG Foundation is seeking an innovative Music Program Director to lead the various K-10 music education programs of a 5-week long Summer Camp in Huntsville, Alabama. The Music Program Director will also be responsible for leading and coordinating a dynamic and interactive Worship in Music experience for students and summer camp staff. The Music Program Director will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive music programs that serve a diverse group of K-10 students. The Music Program Director will work with music instructors and volunteers to foster a love for music in students, while enhancing students’ musical abilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in music education, program development, and community outreach, demonstrating exceptional leadership and communication skills. The successful applicant will work closely with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to develop and execute music-related initiatives, performances, and workshops during the 5-week Summer Camp. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging music programs for K-10 students of varying musical skill levels.
- Recruit and supervise music instructors and volunteers.
- May assist with creating curriculum and lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles in partnership with music instructors and volunteers.
- Manage and coordinate Worship in Music Component of the daily Worship Assembly by scheduling musicians and verifying that visuals, instruments, sound and other technology for Worship in Music sessions are in working order.
- Manage budgetary allocations and funding strategies for music programs.
- Assess the effectiveness of programs through evaluations and feedback from participants throughout the summer camp program.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Music Education.
- Proven experience in program development and community engagement in the arts.
- Experience in coordinating worship programs in religious settings.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire a diverse group of participants and staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with music instructors, volunteers, staff and community members.
- Experience in teaching music to a variety of skill levels and ages.
- Knowledge of various music genres and teaching methods.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
