ROLE: Human Resources Manager

LOCATION: Huntsville, AL

REPORTS TO: General Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The HR Manager serves as a key business partner to our operations and support teams. They drive the recruitment strategy and work with managers to ensure that all functions are fully-staffed with high quality and diverse candidates, and that the onboarding process is positive, timely, and seamless. They also oversee payroll, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all pay cycles and pay changes. The HR Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works with them and the Operations Support Manager to provide guidance and support to people managers on performance and behavioral issues. In all interactions and initiatives, the HR Manager ensures a humane, compliant, and helpful approach to all people matters throughout the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent
• Partner with managers for consistent understanding of staffing needs and ensuring timely hiring
• Promote diversity and inclusion throughout the recruitment process
• Drive the onboarding process and ensure it is positive, efficient, and seamless
• Collaborate closely with the General Manager and various departments to ensure new hires are well integrated into the business 
• Partners with the Payroll function, ensuring accurate pay cycles, as well as timely and helpful responses to any inquiries from employees
• Works closely with Finance to ensure seamless functional Payroll integration
• Manage both BambooHR and ADP to ensure that clean and up-to-date data is available for all who need it
• Act as ‘internal customer service’, answering and addressing all inquiries from employees about benefits, pay, company initiatives, or any other related matters
• Collaborate with the General Manager and other senior leaders to provide support and guidance to people managers on performance management and behavioral issues
• Handle any employee relations issues including allegations of harassment, discrimination, or any other unfavorable treatment in a prompt, objective, and professional manner
• Support the Operations Support Manager in ideating and organizing initiatives to promote a positive, inclusive, and inspiring work environment
• Weekend and/or evening availability may be requested

Requirements

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & PREREQUISITES

• Minimum 5 years of relevant HR experience in a fast-moving environment, preferably in the hospitality and/or entertainment industries
• Prior experience with Payroll supervision preferred
• Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines
• Strong knowledge of recruitment best practices and strategies
• Full understanding of HR functions and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Fantastic organization and time management skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• High EQ, with a sense of humor and preferably a passion for music
