Lifelines Counseling Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Consumer Credit Counseling Service Intake Specialist to join our team. Your responsibilities will include answering incoming calls, assessing client needs, and coordinating access to our services. Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls with professionalism, assess client needs, and book appointments for community clients.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Consumer Credit Counseling Service’s mission, ensuring clients are informed and connected to the appropriate resources.
- Mail/email intake information and necessary forms to clients who have booked appointments.
- Return phone calls and respond to messages within the same day, coordinating coverage with co-workers as needed.
- Organize and maintain comprehensive client files by gathering documentation, confirming appointments, and preparing counselors with the necessary details before sessions.
- Process client deposits and payments, maintain financial logs, and ensure accurate daily reporting.
- Conduct financial and housing education workshops and seminars to promote financial literacy in the community.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in consumer credit counseling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, social work, or a related field is preferred; however, equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Prior experience in consumer credit counseling or financial counseling is preferred.
- Housing Counseling certification, preferred.
- Strong knowledge of credit, debt management, housing education and financial planning principles.
- Ability to advocate for clients' needs as they navigate community resources.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients.
- Proficiency in using financial software and tools for budgeting and analysis.
- Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude to effectively work with individuals facing financial difficulties.
- Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus
