Full Job Description

New Flyer, a leading heavy-duty transit bus manufacturer in North America, is seeking an Assembly Technician to join their team. As an Assembly Technician, you will play a vital role in the production of advanced transit buses under the Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE® brands. New Flyer is committed to providing safe, sustainable, and reliable charging and mobility solutions through their subsidiary, NFI Infrastructure Solutions™. As an Assembly Technician at New Flyer, you will be responsible for assembling and installing various components of transit buses, ensuring high-quality standards are met. Your attention to detail and technical expertise will contribute to the overall success of the production process. Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and installation of components according to specifications and work orders
  • Inspect parts and components for quality and accuracy
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete tasks efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assembly issues and challenges
  • Support continuous improvement activities to enhance productivity and efficiency

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical or vocational training in a relevant field preferred
  • Previous experience in an assembly or manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of technical drawings and instructions
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment

Hourly Pay Rate starts at $19.59/hr
