- Develop and execute comprehensive lobbying strategies to advance NMPF's goals for the dairy industry at the national level. Issue portfolio likely to include labor and nutrition policy, with potential for other areas depending on the candidate.
- Monitor policy developments within issue portfolio and provide timely analysis to the Executive Vice President. Formulate policy recommendations to promote the interests of dairy farmers and their cooperatives.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, member cooperative representatives, industry associations, and advocacy groups. Represent NMPF in relevant coalitions and alliances.
- Engage in direct advocacy with members of Congress, government agencies, and other decision-makers to influence legislation and regulations that impact the dairy sector.
