Optical Engineer II

The Optical Engineer II position is responsible for conducting optical designs and tolerance analysis, writing work instructions and other documentation, and providing engineering support to the manufacturing areas of the facility (e.g., manufacturing, assembly, metrology). More autonomy and mentoring of less experienced engineers or technicians is expected. Although the location of the position is in Rochester, NY, from time to time it may be required to undertake duties at other Thorlabs locations.

Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:

• Design precision multi-element lens systems, including tolerance analysis, metrology requirements, assembly procedures and mechanical design support.
