Japanese Language Cataloger

LAC Federal is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Cataloger to join our team to perform original and copy cataloging of materials in Japanese. As a Cataloger, you will be responsible for cataloging our collection of books for a major federal institution. The majority of the materials relate to art and art history. You will create and update cataloging records in the Voyager Integrated Library System (ILS), ensuring that they are accurate and complete.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform full-level original cataloging records for collections material in various subject areas in the Japanese and English languages.
• Perform copy cataloging for materials that have an existing catalog record
• Update, revise, correct cataloging records as directed
• Correctly interpret and apply cataloging standards including RDA, MARC21, Library of Congress Classification
