Job Summary:

Assists with implementing infection prevention and control programs and maintains dashboards of infection cases. Participates in investigations and interviews for surveillance programs to monitor infection control problems, disease outbreaks, exposure, epidemics, and pandemics. Collects data on infection prevention and control programs to identify areas of improvement. Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating infection prevention and control educational programs. Participates in reviewing policies and procedures related to occupational health.

The Infection Preventionist provides assistance to the Infection Prevention Manager for the surveillance and prevention of infectious disease in the hospitalized patients, employees, volunteers, visitors, and licensed independent practitioners. The Infection Preventionist is under the direct Supervisor of the Infection Prevention Manager. The Infection Preventionist provides coverage and has authority to implement Infection Prevention or Public Health control measures in the absence of the Manager or Director.
