The City of Altoona Public Works Department is currently hiring for an Equipment Operator III. As an Equipment Operator III, you will be responsible for operating various City highway equipment for digging, hauling, paving and excavation. You will also be involved in tasks such as sweeping, grass cutting, and assisting with snow and ice removal. Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must have a High School Diploma or equivalent. You should have knowledge of hand tools and the standard practices of labor operations. Additionally, you should have the ability to follow instructions to perform a variety of manual tasks and the ability to perform manual labor for prolonged periods of time, often under adverse climatic conditions.
