Bindery Assistant

LAC Federal is seeking a Serials Bindery Assistant to work at a major federal library in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of serials records and experience working with an Integrated Library System. Work must be performed on-site. This is a full-time contract position.

Responsibilities:

• An individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.
• Pulling selected serials titles from the stacks
• Preparing serial units for shipment to bindery
• Preparing digital bindery tickets
• Creating and updating bibliographic item records and holdings summaries in ILS
• Quality review of all pre-bindable units

Summary of Position

The Bindery Assistant is a seasonal position responsible for assisting in all post-press operations.  This is a nonexempt position.

Accountability

Reports to the Bindery personnel and Tipi Press Printing Manager

Responsibilities

• Assists in all bindery operations and will be accompanied by trained operator.
