About DeKalb Brilliance Academy: Designed with input from nearly 1,000 South DeKalb community members, we are a tuition-free, public Kindergarten-8th grade South DeKalb charter school approved to enroll grades K-3 in 2023 (adding a grade each year). Our vision is that each child will know and leverage their unique brilliance to critically analyze the world around them and to design a better and more equitable future. Our school will empower students to be leaders by combining rigorous & relevant academics with social-emotional learning. What You’ll Do

As an ESL Teacher at Veritas Prep, you’ll provide ESL services, instruction, and accommodations to English language learners at various grade levels and across content areas. You’ll collaborate with teachers and staff to support Sheltered Immersion instruction and to ensure English language learners can access grade-level curriculum. You’ll also take part in planning with and core content teachers and receive regular coaching and feedback.

You will also:

• Develop and track student progress toward goals
• Teach an ESL class for students with beginner level skills
• Collaborate with Special Education Teachers to support students who are dual-identified
• Support initial language screenings for new students as well as implementation of ACCESS testing

The Role: What You’ll Do

As an Art Teacher at Veritas Prep Middle School you’ll deliver a visual art curriculum for grades 5 through 8 that will inspire students’ knowledge, love, and creation of art. You’ll plan and deliver high-quality instruction daily and collaborate with a growing team of elective teachers to ensure students have access to engaging classes that enhance their education and prepare them for college-level work.
