Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments
• Initiate, order and interpret diagnostic testing
• Develop differential diagnosis
• Perform medication monitoring and prescribe medications as necessary
• Educate consumers on all medications

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Nursing with a sub-specialty in mental health
• Valid NJ FNP or APN, RN, CDS, DEA required
• Experience working with Adults, children and adolescents with behavioral health and substance use disorders.

The Clinical Affiliate ("CA") is an unpaid partnership between North Park University and the CA.  Clinical Affiliates are assigned a North Park University ID number and receive limited access to certain campus locations.  Further, Clinical Affiliates receive an NPU ID badge, which must be worn whenever they are on campus.

The Clinical Affiliate will precept at least one Advanced Practice Nursing Student annually.

Requirements

The Clinical Affiliate must be currently precepting a nursing student and have precepted an Advanced Practice Nursing Student at least once in the prior two years.

Clinical Affiliates will be required to participate in various campus training event, including Title IX, Cybersecurity, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (“DEI”).

MAJOR FUNCTION

Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, provides clinical services defined within the New Jersey Board of Nursing guidelines for Nurse Practitioners. Performs medical functions in accordance with legal and judicial mandates; completes job duties to meet state and federal standards and regulations as well as Henry J. Austin Health Center (HJAHC) policies and procedures. May perform additional related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Manages a panel of patients and works to maintain advanced access scheduling and continuity of care for his/her patient panel.
• Works collaboratively with a clinical team, which may include a nurse, medical assistant, receptionist, behavioral health counselor and clinical pharmacist, to manage the continuity patient panel. This includes active participation in mandatory daily team huddles.
