Summer Camp Counselor in New York

Launch Math + Science Centers provide K through 7th grade kids with inspiring STEM-based summer camps (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). We are hiring Summer 2025 STEM Camp Counselors & Instructors. Our Instructors are passionate and creative people who believe in the Launch mission: To inspire children to love and learn math and science.

The Launch summer program consists of weeklong camps covering various STEM themes ranging from coding and engineering, to physics and robotics. Camps are divided into three grade groups: K-1st, 2nd to 4th grades, and 5th to 7th grades. Many of Launch's camps also have an outdoor component where kids participate in traditional camp activities, as well as math and science based outdoor projects.

Camp topics may include:

• Coding With Scratch and Scratch Jr.
• Coding With Python
• Game Design
• Animation
• Zoology
• Physics
• Kerbal Space Program

We are seeking dynamic, passionate, creative and responsible role models for our outdoor summer camp program located in downtown Manhattan. Must have experience working with children, preferably with an interest/background in
child development or prior camp experience.

Job Responsibilities:

• Supervising a group of 10-12 campers (in conjunction with other counselors)
• Plan outdoor activities or sports for groups of campers
• Lead/engage group in daily activities including group games, arts and crafts, music fun and more
• Coordinate with other staff on program implementation
• Participate in all activities including support in vendor/specialist led programming
• Keep campers safe at all times
• Follow all camp guidelines, policies, safety plans and protocols completely
• Set a good example for campers and staff in terms of cleanliness, punctuality, manners, appropriate language, appropriate attire, etc.
