In 2002, HousingPlus opened its doors to six families and six single women who had been incarcerated and homeless and needed safe housing and assistance to re-enter the community. We handed each woman a key to her own apartment. Our hallmark is our unwavering commitment to addressing the lack of housing and services for historically underserved and marginalized NYC women and their children, including female veterans, justice-involved women, and women with histories of mental health challenges, sexual abuse, domestic violence, substance use, chronic illness, adverse childhood experiences, and other trauma. By 2028, HousingPlus will work with over 500 women and female-led households.

Our mission is to provide community-based housing and comprehensive services to women, including women with children, to support them in overcoming poverty, homelessness, addiction, trauma, and the effects of incarceration, to build lives of stability, and to define and realize goals...
