This person should have an informed vision of what skills, expertise and knowledge will be needed by the osteopathic physician of the future and the curriculum needed to provide these. The Assistant Dean of the clinical affairs department, will need to successfully work with a variety of professionals in the process of growing, leading, and improving the clinical experiences for third and fourth year ICOM students. While responsibility is for the entire clinical education curriculum, he or she will have senior administrative collaborators, such as the Assistant Dean of Clinical Affairs, the Assistant Dean of Graduate Medical Education, and the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs so they can focus on their area of responsibility.
